Let’s face it. Literally. Shopping for foundation can be a challenge. Unlike lipstick or eyeshadow, you can’t just waltz down the beauty aisle, spot a foundation you think looks pretty, and hope for the best. Will this formula work for me? Which shade will match? It can definitely be a process. And, shopping for foundation in the drugstore can be even more difficult as testers are usually non-existent. It's nice to go to Sephora or a department store and take your time and be color matched. But sometimes, you need a more wallet-friendly option that you can find on the shelves of your local drugstore. Here are 3 that I’ve purchased time and time again, and can definitely recommend!

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup
I almost always have a bottle of this foundation on hand. It's silky texture provides a nice medium/medium-full coverage. It has SPF 20, with the main sunscreen ingredient being 6.6% Titanium Dioxide. I've found it applies best with a brush or fingers. Available in 14 shades, I love the nice, satin finish it gives my skin.
Rimmel Lasting Finish 25H Foundation with Comfort Serum
Long name, but great product! This budget-friendly option is great when you need full coverage. I'm not sure about the 25 hour wear claim, but it definitely holds up well throughout a normal day. I'll often reach for it when I need some staying power and a more matte finish. For application, I'll use a brush or beautyblender. This foundation also has SPF 20 (7.8% Titanium Dioxide & 2.5% Octinoxate). Only 7 shades are available, so finding a good match might be difficult.
L’Oréal True Match Lumi Cushion
This foundation from L'Oréal is hands down my favorite drugstore option. When I first tried it, I was shocked at how beautiful my skin looked. The description says “luminous” and it truly is. With a light to medium coverage, it rivals most high-end foundations. It's a pricier drugstore option, but worth the splurge if you are looking for a terrific foundation to grab on the go. There is a nice range of 16 shades, and the cushion/compact packaging is convenient for travel. A brush is my favorite way to apply it.
So, those are my picks for some of the best budget-friendly foundations. Do you have a favorite drugstore foundation you love? Comment and let me know!
