Simple Sesame Onion Potatoes

August 10, 2017 Randi 1 Comment

This easy potato side dish is a tasty accompaniment to beef, chicken, or fish!

Today, I am sharing one of my favorite go-to side dishes, Simple Sesame Onion Potatoes.  The potatoes and onions cook up nicely together in the oven, and the sesame seeds give it just a little something extra.

For the ingredients, you will need:

  • 4 medium Yukon gold potatoes
  • 1 medium yellow onion
  • 1/2 tsp. salt (divided)
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper (divided)
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil (divided)
  • 1 Tbsp sesame seeds

Sur La Table

First, preheat the oven to 375 degrees, and spray a 9×13 dish with your favorite cooking spray.  Next, wash and dry the potatoes and thinly slice them to about 1/8″ thick.  Thinly slice the onion.  Layer half of the onions in the baking dish, and follow with half of the potatoes.  Sprinkle with 1/4 tsp. salt, 1/4 tsp. pepper, and 1 Tbsp. olive oil.  Repeat to make another layer of onions, potatoes, salt, pepper, and olive oil.  Finally, top with 1 Tbsp. sesame seeds.  Cover with foil and bake for 3o minutes.  Uncover and bake an additional 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and golden brown.

That's it!  An easy go-to side dish sure to compliment your next meal!
